He gets so upset with the cruelty of war and its effect on society. Therefore, he goes on a journey far away from everything. On his journey, he takes his close friend Ulrich von Grevel with him. As they were exploring the vast woodlands in the forest, they stumbled upon something strange. Upon investigating, they soon realized that it was a lost piece of an ancient artifact. The artifact contained a rod that turned out to be the Rod of Aaron. They obtain the artifact and make their way back to further look into it. A few days later, an unknown young monk arrives at the doorstep of the protagonist. He tells him that the power of the Rod is not for ordinary people. But it was too late because Ulrich became so obsessed with it and went alone to find the remaining pieces of the Rod.
